According to recent speculations, the much-anticipated release of Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti could be taking place in April 2021. It was previously rumored that the card will have 20GB VRAM, however, the recent leaks suggest that RTX 3080 Ti will now have just 12GB of VRAM.
These leaks come from a notable Twitter leaker kopite7kimi. You can check out his tweet below:
kopite7kimi, announced back in 2020 that RTX 3080 Ti will feature 20GB of GDDR6X VRAM, but in a follow-up tweet on February 6th, 2021, kopite7kimi revealed that the card will now feature 12GB of GDDR6X video memory. The recent leak makes much more sense, as the previously rumored 20GB variant of RTX 3080 Ti would have been extremely close to the RTX 3090 which features 24GB of GDDR6X memory. This is of course taking into consideration that Nvidia does not hike up the price of RTX 3080 Ti excessively above the base RTX 3080 version.
Furthermore, the well-known Twitter leaker has also disclosed that RTX 3080 Ti will feature 10240 CUDA cores, which is also a downgrade, as it was previously believed that the card would contain 10496 CUDA cores.
