Riot Games have announced that the event will start on July 8, 2021. But no end date has been confirmed yet. So, it’s safe to assume that it can go from a few weeks to an entire month.

Sentinels of Light Lore

The lore of Sentinels of Light is a part of the story of Riot Games League of Legends. It follows up with the return of the ruined king Viego. Though major parts of the lore are missing and most of it is not official yet, the fans have made plenty of theories on their own. However, it can be safely assumed that Viego, Gwen, Lucian, Senna, and Thresh will play a major role in the storyline as they were all present in the key art of the event.

Riot Games has even asked players to catch up on the Ruination cinematic and trailers for champions Gwen and Senna to get a good understanding of the lore when they decide to drop it. It can be a good way to release their new game “Ruined King: A League of Legends Story”. This game will be a spin-off single-player RPG for League of Legends.
Though it is popular in some fan theories, it is not confirmed if this lore will be a mash-up in Valorant or any other of Riot Game’s titles. Guess we will have to just wait and see for ourselves.

New Champion in the League

His name is Akshan. He will be seen in the game with his signature grapple gun which also suggests he will be a new mid-lane marksman champion.  Riot Games has confirmed that he will be appealing to the majority of the mid-lane assassin and skirmisher players.

What Games are getting the Crossover Event

As mentioned earlier, almost every title under Riot Games will receive this crossover event. It includes:

  • League of Legends
  • League of Legends: Wild Rift
  • Valorant
  • Legends of Runeterra
  • Teamfight Tactics

Since all of them, except the newly added shooter Valorant, are based on the same universe, it’s almost guaranteed that this event will have an impact on their respective lore. As for Valorant, it has already received a new skin bundle named ‘Ruination’ and is set to receive another one this coming week named after the event itself.
