Horizon Forbidden West | Release Date on PS4, PS5| & More Announcements

The long-awaited sequel to the critically-acclaimed Horizon Zero Dawn, Horizon Forbidden West was revealed during Sony’s PS5 games event in June. However, we have not received any official news from Guerrilla Games regarding the game since then. Recently, rumor has it that the game could be delayed until 2022.

Horizon Forbidden West continues Aloy’s story and takes her to America’s wild frontier on a quest to find the source of a mysterious plague that kills everyone it infects. But it seems like players have to wait a little bit longer to get their hands on the game. Anton Logvinov, YouTuber and an established leaker commented on a tweet listing all the games delayed to 2022 that he would add Horizon Forbidden West to that specific list as well.

Having said that, it’s not entirely clear what this is based on but it should be noted that Anton was the one who leaked Horizon: Zero Dawn would make its way to PC long before Sony declared it to mass media. A few hours after this tweet, PlayStation’s State of Play broadcast aired without any news regarding the game.

The only official news on this topic we have so far came earlier this week when Jim Ryan, the CEO, and president of Sony Interactive Entertainment, said that Horizon Forbidden West is still on its track to be released in the second half of 2021. So it’s clear that Sony and Guerrilla Games don’t have anything to share at this time but the delay is not entirely out of the realm of possibility as Anton’s predictions have not been proven wrong yet. Also, his sources are totally unknown.

We also have an article mentioning the Top 10 Games coming out in 2021 along with Horizon Forbidden West, God of War Ragnarok, and many more. If you want to check them out, Click Here.

Last week’s State of Play was upsetting as we did not receive any new information, but the presumed reason for that could be that Sony is holding back to show another look at Horizon Forbidden West closer to its scheduled release window. All we can do right now is to keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best. Also, let us know in the comments below whether you are also excited to know more about Hoziron Forbidden West.
