The all-new version update for Genshin Impact rolled out along with the Genshin Impact 2.5 update. The patch went live as scheduled on 16th February 2022 and it brought quite a few additions to the game. One of them is obviously, the fan-favorite 5-STar Electro Catalyst user Yae Miko. But the cool things don’t end there. Even though this p[atch was supposed to be of minor importance, it has brought new quests and challenges to the table. The one that players should look out for is the new in-game event called the “Three Realms Gateway Offering”.

About the “Three Realms Gateway Offering”
This brand new in-game event requires players to complete a task and earn some cool rewards. Players, who participate in this event, are appointed to locate and defeat the game mob called Shadowy Husks. Successfully doing so will reward players with the new in-game item called Husk Gem. It is a valuable material in the game and holds an important place. Players should not miss this opportunity to earn up to 36 Husk Gems during the “Three Realms Gateway Offering” event.
What is a Husk Gem in Genshin Impact?
It is a new in-game item that was added to the game with the version 2.5 update. As of now, players are required to have 10 Husk Gems at least in order to cleanse the “Tower of the Void” in Genshin Impact. There might be other use cases for this item in the game later on but for now, you should collect as many of these as you can.
Where can you find Shadowy Husks?
There are six Shadowy Husks present in the game and are scattered along with different places. When a player defeats a Shadowy Husk, a material falls off their armor as dropped loot. This is the Husk Gem that you need to collect. If you defeat all 6 of the Shadowy Husks then you can earn 6 Husk Gems.
These 6 Shadowy Husks can be found in pairs along with three locations. The first pair of Shadowy Husks can be found on Yachimatahiko’s Locus island. Players must reach this location and locate them. After they have successfully defeated these two, they will gain the chance to open a Precious Chest along with the 2 Husk Gem as dropped loot. Once players open this Precious Chest, they will get an additional 10 Husk Gems. This first location alone will help you get 12 Husk Gems in the game early.
As for the second pair of Shadowy Husks, players should go to the location of Kunado’s locus Island. Players can repeat the same process as the first one and defeat these two to get 2 Husk Gems and a Precious Chest. From which, they will once again earn 10 more Husk Gems.
The third and the last pair of Shadowy Husks presides over the Yachimatahime’s locus Island. Successfully locate and defeat them in order to earn 12 more Husk Gems (2 as dropped loot and 10 from the Precious Chest).
As a matter of fact, after you have swiped these three areas along with the Shadowy Husks, you will have up to 36 Husk Gems in your possession.
Tips to defeat Shadowy Husks in Genshin Impact
Even though you might not consider these mobs as top-tier bosses, they are high-level mobs. They possess quite the health bar and you would need your powerful character party to finish them quickly. Avoid getting hit directly from their charged attacks and don’t get caught off-guard. Shadowy Husks fight as in pairs, thus it makes it annoying when you get hit. Also, avoid using any Shield unit during your confrontation as doing so will be counter-productive. They have the ability to either heal one another or make a shield for themselves. You can avoid this by not using Shield. Do keep healers in your party to regain health as opposed to using shields.
