The second installment in the series, Dying Light 2 is an action-adventure, zombie survival game, developed by Techland. The genre of zombie survival games has been popular for a long time, but what makes Dying Light one of the best out of others is its thrilling parkour mechanics and insightful storyline.

Dying Light 2 is scheduled to release on February 4th, 2022, which is just a few weeks away from today. Before you go on to purchase the game, let us share the experience that the early access ‘Exclusive Walkthrough Gameplay’ has to offer.

Dying Light 2- What to expect?

Visuals

The new story, along with the new open-world map, looks very compelling. It is exactly how the trailers have described, as it features the ‘Dying Light’ element. The graphics are far advanced compared to Dying Light 2015. Roaming around the map and doing some parkour enhances exactly what the game tells the players, i.e. ‘Stay on the roof tops’.

Parkour

This is the signature feature of the series and Techland has outdone itself. The fans will get a similar and familiar parkour experience but a bit enhanced. We loved the first game and we can surely say that the second part will provide more vivid and better parkour.

Combat

Dying Light features one of the smoothest and coolest combat mechanics in the first-person gaming scenario. Dying Light 2 takes the familiar approach and adds much more ‘cool stuff’ along with it. It is to be said that the exclusive walkthrough seems to provide a fluid combat system, just as expected from the developers.

Weapons and Gadgets

The game offers different types of weapons, from melee to guns, that will be vital during your walkthrough. There are similar aspects like stat levels in weapons and their durabilities.

Dying Light 2015 had a very cool grappling hook mechanic that we all loved. As we can see, there will be one in the second title, along with a wingsuit. Now, both of these will make the open world of Dying Light 2 and its parkour, ten times more fun.

Looting Mechanism

The game put great emphasis on looting as still at the bottom, it is a classic Dying Light title. Looting is still the primary way to get weapons and materials in the game. You can also buy them with the money you collect. There’s also the classic looting dead bodies and lockpicking containers.

Skill Tree

We have a sneak peek of the skill tree system in the game. It provides a number of different skills that players can invest their skill points to add to their gameplay. There are two types of a skill tree that players can customize their character with, they are;

  • Combat Skills
  • Parkour Skills

You can play through and unlock certain skill sets along, by using up your gained Combat and Parkour points.

Others

There will be many other things in the game that have not been shown yet but we are positive. The game also makes the multiplayer option a priority and adds a series of challenges, aside from the Co-Op, like the good old parkour challenge.

The 2015 initial release didn’t feature any type of vehicles in the game, I mean if you had such amazing parkour mechanics, why would you even consider cars? But the DLC features vehicles in the game, and we can’t stress this enough but smashing zombies with a vehicle will always remain on the bucket list. Dying Light 2 might feature vehicles in the vanilla game or we may see it in the DLC later down the line.

Game Performance

The game requires some good hardware in order to execute properly, as it is stated. As far as the tests are done, the game delivers outstanding performance all over the board with an RTX 3090 and 32 GB of ram. We can’t say for sure how it will perform on lower-level hardware so hardware requirements are to be noted.

You can refer to the game’s official steam page’s data on system requirements (also stated below):
