Every year the excitement for a new installment in the Call of Duty franchise diverts thousands of eyes across the globe. The Call of Duty franchise is a massive contender in the gaming world, it is one of the most iconic gaming series to have ever exist. And just merely a week ago, on August 19, 2021, Activision has announced their latest installment in the COD franchise named Call of Duty: Vanguard.
After the massive success of the 2019 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and the follow-up 2020 released Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, we are finally going to have Vanguard as the 2021 release. The first-look trailer had a hit-and-miss response towards the massive audience but the recently released Demo playthrough gameplay has caught the most attraction. We will talk about the game, its release date, new features, system compatibility, and everything else you would need to know further down in this article.
Call of Duty: Vanguard – Release Date
This massive AAA shooter game is going to be the direct competitor of Battlefield 2042, which is also set to be released on October 22nd of this year. Vanguard has a released date set for November 5th, 2021 and we hope it doesn’t get delayed in the meantime.
The Battlefield 2042 trailer was the biggest thing of this year that had caught a massive audience’s attention. As a competitor, Call of Duty Vanguard’s trailer was not able to quite deliver up to the standards. If you see the like to dislike ratio of the Vanguard trailer on Youtube, you may notice the disappointment that some people had. However, the recently released demo playthrough called ‘Call of Duty®: Vanguard – Stalingrad Demo Play-through’ was able to change many of those minds. It looks insanely good, the gameplay, new mechanics, and the overall vibes of the game have the classic Call of Duty vibes to it.
The brand new COD title, ‘Vanguard’ is stated to be available on all of the leading platforms like Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X & S and for PC through Battle.net game distribution service.

Playstation users are bound to have a piece of great news about the pre-release alpha test. Every single Playstation 4 and 5 owners will have the opportunity to play the preview of the Call of Duty: Vanguard.
alpha, featuring the brand new Champion Hill Multiplayer Mode. This is a limited-time offer that is available from 27th to 29th August 2021, exclusively available for the Playstation platform.
Preloading of the game has already begun from August 23rd at 3 A.M (PT), ahead of the planned alpha test. To preload the game, please visit here.
The theme of the Game
The game is set on the timeline of World War 2 and its events, which many may think is a similar region to their previous title Call of Duty: WW2. But unlike the former one, which focused on American platoons that make their way across Europe, Vanguard focuses on multiple fronts. It features the Eastern Front, the Western Front, North Africa, and The Pacific, which would cover the four of the major zones of the war.
The single-player campaign in COD: Vanguard will sweep through the major war and the origin story of a multi-national special task force, called the Task Force One. This Task Force One unit will feature the four protagonists of the game, who are soldiers belonging to dour different regions. They are Sergeant Arthur Kingsley of the British Army, Private Lucas Riggs of the British Eight Army, Lieutenant Polina Petrova from the Red Army, and Lieutenant Wade Jackson from the United States Navy.
Call of Duty’s signature multiplayer experience will have a great dominance over the new game. There are said to be a total of 20 multiplayer maps in Vanguard at the time of launch. This is an insane amount of maps and will surely provide the players with something interesting, from time to time. Out of these 20, a total of 16 maps will feature the classic 6v6 multiplayer. While the rest 4 maps will be featured under the new game mode that is called ‘Champion Hill’. This mode will throw players in 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 mode tournaments. More about this game mode will be discussed after the alpha tests.
The maps will also feature a more number of elements and environments that are prone to destruction. This will give the game a more realistic and rough feel.
The Call of Duty series Campaigns and multiplayer modes are not the only ones that attract OG fans. The other competitor is the traditional Zombies modes. The greatest part about the Zombies mode in Call of Duty: Vanguard is the fact of it being developed by Treyarch Studios. This is more appealing to the fans and will surely be a masterpiece within the masterpiece. The new chilling zombie experience will let player prove their worth and skills by trying to survive the “relentless onslaught of the undead”.
Treyarch Studios will be linking the story with the Dark Aether storyline, attached to the Balck Ops universe.
Battle Royale Experience, Battle Pass and New Anti-Cheat System
Call of Duty: Vanguard is said to collide with the Call of Duty: Warzone universe with full integration. A new vital map is set to be released in Warzone later in 2021, which will connect the bridge between Vanguard. After its release, both Vanguard and Warzone will be able to share new maps, content, modes, events, and playlists with each other.
Vanguard will also be able to generate the universal progression. This means players can play either of the titles, i.e. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Warzone, Black Ops Cold War, or Vanguard to progress their rank and build through their Battle Pass.
The cheater problem in Warzone has been a really annoying issue for quite some time. The post-released new map Warzone will feature a brand new PC anti-cheat system across the entire game mode and its development is led by Raven Software.
