The game is set in a huge scale world, based on the near-future Earth, and the wars engraved within. This world is infected by villainous minds who are choosing the path of violence to achieve superior authority and power.

The world in Battlefield 2042 is on the brink of massive wars all around with new kinds of stateless soldiers. The major incidents that took the world to such scenarios were a decade of total chaos. It all roughly started around 2031, with calamities like category 6 storm, Hurricane Zeta in 2033, Global food, fuel shortage that sparked the second Great Depression in the world around 2034, and the European Union’s official disbandment that followed after Germany’s collapse in 2035. You can reckon, how messed up humanity and mand kind is in the states of Battlefield 2042.

Key Game Modes

– All Out Warfare (with 128 Players)

The maximum player count has been doubled with the new 128 players system, with two teams of 64 each. This type of battle will be based on the two popular game modes of Conquest and Breakthrough. To accompany such a large crowd, the maps have been made a lot grander, but not by too much. So there’s the chance of getting chaos at every point of your gameplay, making it a lot of fun.

Xbox One and PS4 only support 64 total players, whereas, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and PlayStation 5 will support a total of 128 players.

– Battlefield Portal

This is a great mode that many are interested in and are looking forward to. This game mode allows the players to experience battles across the Battlefield gaming universe. Here, players can redeploy in the classic battles of Battlefield 1942, Bad Company 2, and 3 and get the chance to experience the classics with the pinch of the modern arsenal and content of Battlefield 2042.

– Battlefield Hazard Zone

This is Battlefield’s all-new and high-stakes multiplayer experience. Here, players can squad up and drop down in the well-known maps. The developers describe it as ‘distinctly Battlefield, but very different from the modes of All-Out Warfare.’

No Campaign

There is no single-player campaign in Battlefield 2042, which is a bit of a bummer. The Battlefield 2042 is entirely multiplayer bound for the most part.

Specialist

Instead of classes, Battlefield 2042 introduces specialists. These specialist characters have their own unique traits and futuristic gadgets. They are like R6 operators and each of them has its own style and backstory. There will be 10 specialists at the time of game launch, with four other being introduced one by one in the upcoming four seasons. Thus, making a total of 14 specialists to select from.
