The Nether realm in Minecraft is the darkest biome in the game, enclosed with lava and multiple enemies that want to knock you out.
So what is the point of visiting such a place? Well, the answer is simple. The more danger it possesses, the greater the rewards are to take. The Nether dimension in the game is one of the richest places where you can find tons of items that you would never find in the outer world.
The Nether Realm can’t be accessed normally through exploration around the map. You need to construct a special kind of gate that will help you travel directly to this new dimension.
The Nether Portal is a cool, door-like structure that allows you to enter the Nether and travel back to the outer world. In short, it works like a bridge between the two worlds.
How to Make a Nether Portal in Minecraft?
Well, the process is very easy as it sounds. However, if you are planning to visit the Nether within the first few hours of playing the game and with no prior experience, then it is not advised. You should only approach this one if you have all the required materials present.
The process for making NetherPortal in Minecraft is the same in Minecraft Bedrock and Jave Edition.
Materials Required:
The two main and only materials/items required to construct the Nether Portal are listed below;
- 1 Flint and Steel
- 10 Obsidian Blocks
You can get the Obsidian block by mixing the source lava block with a bucket of water. The purple block produced as a result is what you are looking for. You will need a diamond pickaxe and a lot of time to mine Obsidian Blocks.
Secondly, you need a flint & steel tool to light and activate the Nether Portal in Minecraft. You would need 1 iron ingot and 1 flint to make this tool.
Construction of the Nether Portal
The basic shape required to make the Nether Portal is as follows.
- Make an Obsidian Block structure with 4 blocks wide on the base and top, with 5 blocks tall on the sides.
- This would make a rectangle shape with the middle portion empty, keep it that way.
- You can break off the four corner blocks from the structure as it doesn’t need it.
- Now you have to equip the Flint & Steel tool and right-click into the empty inner area of the structure. This will activate the Nether Portal in Minecraft.
